Just across the bridge from South Station, there’s a small, rapidly developing neighborhood called Fort Point, named for the channel that separates it from downtown Boston. Fort Point hosts the Boston Children’s Museum, the delicious Flour Bakery, and one of New England’s largest artist’s community. Over 300 Boston artists live in the refurbished brick warehouses of the district, hosting open studios annually to showcase their work right in their own studios. The vibrant district is becoming more and more popular, and new restaurants such as Tavern Road and Blue Dragon have begun to pop up in the area. Take a walk through the curved brick walls and see what you can find in the neighborhood Mayor Menino dubbed “the Innovation District."
