Boston college students often make trips to the North End or Cambridge to eat and explore, but the lesser known South End is equally charming and interesting. This week, I took a walk through the close by historic neighborhood to highlight the character of the quickly growing area. The streets are lined with brick brownstones similar to those in Back Bay, but the vibe is more relaxed than down by Copley. Even though it's less hectic, there are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and stores to browse through, as well as friendly residents (and their equally friendly pets!) The neighborhood is full of bright flowers and trees that add a natural beauty to the wrought iron details of the buildings. It's only a short walk away from Emerson, and is a fantastic place to bring a few friends to explore and grab sandwiches at a local cafe.
